CDA Team Spotlight: Gerry!
Oct 27, 2018
Meet Gerry, one of our amazing CDA Idaho Clothing Co. team members! CDA Idaho Clothing Company not only promotes Idaho and PNW pride, but also works to foster a local mindset that loves our community. Gerry is a real deal local (she and her family have been around town for quite awhile), so she's got the inside scoop on what makes North Idaho so spectacular and what truly makes this place home. She and so many others make up the special community of this town and our team, so we decided to ask her for some highlights of life in Coeur d'Alene!
Q: How long have you lived in Coeur d'Alene? Did you grow up here?
Gerry: I did. My family has actually been here for five generations (no big deal). So far, nobody has really left!
Q: Favorite thing to do outdoors?
Gerry: Since I would likely injure myself if I tried to ski or snowboard, I really spend copious amounts of time outside during the summer! I love to hike Mineral Ridge, Tubbs (and jump off the cliffs), and swim in the lake as much as I can. I haven’t tried ziplining yet, but it’s on my list!

Q: Favorite local restaurant? Local coffee shop?
Gerry: That’s such a tough one. My husband Nic and I are avid connoisseurs of local eateries! I’m a huge fan of Collective Kitchen downtown and Bardenay in Riverstone - two restaurants I frequently recommend to tourists in the store! Best coffee is a tie between Evans Brothers and Union Roasters. I also love Coeur d'Alene Coffee Co.’s ambiance, and usually go there when I want to study and relax by the fire. Best tiny coffee joint is definitely the White Pine on 4th Street. Okay, I’ll stop now 😉
Q: What are some of your most favorite aspects of Coeur d'Alene?
Gerry: I honestly believe there’s something for everyone in Coeur d'Alene. It’s packed with opportunity, but has all the charm of a small town. It’s beautiful, and a safe place to raise a family. Small businesses thrive here, so even if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, there’s both room and demand for innovation and new startups. It’s obvious to me why so many people want to move here - I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

Q: What is your favorite time of year in Coeur d'Alene/North Idaho?
Gerry: Definitely summer! Autumn is a close second, with all the changing colors.
Q: Favorite aspect of CDA Idaho Clothing Company?
Gerry: The owners (Andy and Nichelle) have meticulously developed a solid brand that locals love to rep and tourists love to take home with them. Our products aren’t just trendy and high-quality; the designs truly speak to consumers and help us all feel connected to the community. I think that’s why so many people identify with our brand. I’m very proud to represent this company!
Q: Some of your favorite CDA designs?
Gerry: I have our standard logo in almost every color and style! (I need to not spend my entire paycheck). The “Retro Bus” is also one of my favorites.
